You can easily improve the reliability of your Remington 870. Remington 870 Police shotguns have a different Carrier Latch Spring(Carrier Dog Follower Spring). It is from model 1100, & Rem 870 police
Standard Carrier Dog Follower Spring is silver, Remington 870 Police spring (from model 1100) is black:
A heavier carrier latch spring improves reliability and may resolve feeding problems if you experience them. The main purpose of this spring is to lift next round which comes out of a magazine tube. Remington 870 Police carrier latch spring (1100) will do this much better.

Unique upgrade
Dog follower spring what's that, well helps feed you shotgun ammo, and for an easy 5min install well worth the couple bucks it costs. Never had a problem before, but definitely feel the difference in feeding especially with the S&J Hardware follower and spring upgrade too. I recommend this product for anyone.

This particular spring is difficult to find. SJ Hardware has them. Ordering is easy. Processing and shipping were prompt. Cannot speak to the integrity of the spring as the build is not yet complete.
