The ergonomic design allows you to feel the safety and its current condition very easily through gloves. It is also easier to find in low and no light conditions, and allows more surface area for positive engagement.
Machined from 4140 steel, mil spec parkerized finish.

Missing red is dead
I used some red touch -up paint to paint a red marking on the "fire" selector side of the safety, because it comes unmarked. The safety itself is a big improvement on my Blueline 870 clone. Perfect fit!

Awesome product
Got this for my Remington 870 clone (blue line) and it fits perfectly, functions well, and looks good. I recommend this for anyone who wants to upgrade the safety in your shotgun.

870 safety upgrade
Very nice. I replaced the factory issue with a Wilson Combat product. It was okay but a little too flat to engage with my knuckle. S & J’s seems just right to engage while keeping away from the trigger until ready to fire. Smooth function, easy to install, delivered in a timely manner. Thank you.

870 over sized safety
I've now used this safety on three different Remington rifles( one 572, and two 7600s), and it is by far my favorite choice for an oversized safety. It is perfectly sized to give great tactile feel without impediment of the access to the trigger. A safety replacement is my first job on these Remington rifles, and I have recommended the S&J to several others. My only complaint is that there is no red painted in the outermost groove, and I have to do that aspect myself in case someone else uses one of my rifles. Other than that, the safety is absolutely perfect! Thanks for a great product!
